Successive national reports have highlighted the poor quality of care offered by some services supporting vulnerable service users who present challenging behaviour in the child care, education and adult learning disability sectors.
The CALM Training Module
The CALM training model is one of a small number of training organisations accredited under the national physical intervention scheme administered by the British Institute for Learning Disability (BILD).
CALM has been acknowledged as achieving the greatest impact and safest results in several UK and US national level reports.
However such results are dependent on a constructive relationship with user agencies, and their compliance with the strict underpinning quality assurance procedures.
The CALM Quality Assurance Award was developed to recognise the efforts of those services fully compliant with the CALM and BILD Quality Assurance procedures. Its award should be recognised as indicative of a commitment to best practice standards by awarded organisations.
