The series may be over but you can still join us...
We'd love to share the experience with you!
We started our journey by looking at ‘Curiosity as an Antidote to Labelling’, we looked at how honing our curiosity as a skill, and as a way of being and working alongside each other, can reduce our assumptions and biases and deepen our empathy and understanding of ourselves and one another. Our hope is that these sessions can deepen our conversations and exploration of what Trauma Responsive practice looks and feels like by looking at research, practices and tools which focus on curiosity, connection and compassion.
In our second session we explored ‘Creating safety through connection’. We took a deeper look at Polyvagal Theory, drawing on work from Stephen Porges and Deb Dana. This was another wonderful session that offered the opportunity to explore how interconnected we all are and the enduring need we all have to support each other with regulation. We reflected on what anchors us in a state of feeling regulated and safe, a person, a place, an activity, we pondered who we consider an anchor for ourselves when we feel anxious or unsettled.
