Scottish Government guidance open for public consultation

The Scottish Government’s guidance regarding the use of physical intervention in schools is now open for public consultation.

Help shape this important development!

As many of you may know, dedicated guidance on the use of physical interventions has never existed for the education sector in Scotland. Following the publication of No Safe Place in 2018 the Scottish government accepted the recommendation to produce such guidance.

As a member of the working party set up by the government in 2020, CALM has been deeply involved in drafting this guidance, and we are hopeful our CALM community will consider responding – either as an individuals or whole organisations – to help shape this important development!

The public consultation on the draft guidance is now open until October 2022. Please click on the following link to access the draft and associated papers: https://www.gov.scot/news/use-of-physical-intervention-in-schools
